Won't this make them lose balance and fall more often?

To ensure this is not the case, we've designed the BabiGuard to be incredibly lightweight and comfortable for the baby, so they barely feel it's on. We, nor our customers, have noticed a change in balance when using the BabiGuard.

Does this stop babies from learning that falling is bad?

Not at all, because babies instinctually know they shouldn't fall down. That's why we see babies cry even when falling pain-free on the BabiGuard. Why do we put training wheels on bikes, but afraid to protect our baby during standing? This only helps build their confidence to play more!
